pucePlanetary Stage

Nebula'11 will kick-off with the Planetary Stage commencing on the 1st October. In this round, the contestants will be taking an on-line quiz. The quiz will comprise of objective questions to test the contestant's understanding of fundamentals like circuit theory, signals and systems and feedback. The test will last for 45 minutes and will be held on-line.

Once you register successfully for the contest, you will receive an e-mail confirming your registration and providing your login details for the quiz. The quiz will be open round the clock from the 1st October to 23rd October. The contestants are free to take the quiz at their convenience. Please note that only one attempt is allowed for each contestant. However, if the contestant encounters a technical problem like network disconnection while taking the quiz, he/she should report it to us immediately by e-mailing to nebula@cosmiccircuits.com within 24 hrs. We will check our server logs to confirm the problem and allow a second attempt. However, please note that we cannot entertain more than one such request from each contestant.

puceEmission Stage

After proving their mastery over the basic principles of circuit analysis, the qualified contestants will progress to the Emission Stage. The Emission Stage has been designed to apply these principles to real-world problems. A problem statement will be put up on this website on the 29th of October. The focus will be on testing the contestant's analytical skills. The problem will also introduce non-idealites in circuit design and encourage the contestants to think over solutions to overcome them. The contestants will have three weeks to understand the problem and work on it. A detailed report on the solution should be prepared and submitted through e-mail to reach us on or before the 20th of November. The answers will be judged for the novelty of the solution as well as the presentation. The results will be announced on our website on November 28th.

puceStellar Nursery

The three month long journey of Nebula'11 will culminate at the Stellar Nursery on December 24th. After successfully clearing the Planetary and Emission stages, you will be invited to our design house in Bangalore. Cosmic Circuits will arrange for the accommodation and reimburse travel expenses. The final challenge will be similar in concept to the problem in the Emission Stage, the focus being more on testing synthetic skills. You will also have an opportunity to discuss your solutions with our design engineers, giving a rookie Analog Designer in you a quantum leap in terms of experience. In the Stellar Nursery, the judges will test your methodology to solve circuit problems in an environment very similar to the workplace scenario and your ability to present the solution in a cogent fashion. Nebula'11 will conclude with a prize distribution ceremony in the evening. The ceremony will be followed by dinner where the finalists will get a unique opportunity to interact with the founding members of Cosmic Circuits.
